Just to ad..... One thing I learned though. If it stalls and you are going along, thee's no point in dropping the clutch to spin the engine (using that back wheel) to get it going again. It just locked the wheel up tight (too much turning power required) I just had to punch the starter and was ok ...
My front CCT went a few months ago. The engine would not turn over on the starter. It bent the 2 inlet valves when the chain jumped a few teeth. You could push the bike along in gear and all you could hear was the chain jumping teeth (sounds like a football rattle). But it would not turn the engine ...

New valves could require new spacers. From what you say about the rear creating a pumping action, it does sound as though your valve timing is out. To set the timing properly you really need to set up one cylinder, then rotate the crank 1 and a quarter turns (best check as this is from memory), then ...

Could be a number of things if you do a search under workshop and for cct's. Things that spring to mind; Cam chain timing out by a tooth or 2 (very easily done!) Valves not ground in properly (sounds strange but there have been reports) Bent big end causing timing pick up miss when to fire. On the ...

1/2 hour for the rear cylinder maybe, but teh front is a right pig! It makes life a lot easier if teh carbs are removed, the rads and the front oil cooler. Not all nessecary but it will reduce the risk of dirt and debris going in the engine. It can be done with just the tank removed but it isn't easy!

Have to say when I had a Fog City I really didn't get on with it. I did a lot of commuting in darkness and found that I was getting reflections as I wear glasses for driving as well. Thought I'd add that though I've not heard many people complain about them... I've had that problem in darkness as ...

To have a bit of comeback, ask him to create a Buy it Now auction. It is possible to make it so only you can bid on it. This way, if things go wrong your backed by ebay and can leave feedback accordingly. On the other hand, if things go right, it will boost both your feedback scores which is always ...
