Rectifier
Got caught out last week - everything was running fine, then all of a sudden, the bike wouldn't start! .. Battery was completely flat. As a good boy, I'd bought a CBR125 rectifier a while back, "just in case" .. and, luckily the VTR uses the same batteries as the ZX9R, so I have a few of them around ...
Re: Project
It's always worth it ... you are set for when you do have more power then ;)
Re: Project
Right then ... well, due to work f'kin' up my pay, the chassis has to go - I did post up about it, but it got removed - I've since realised it's 'cos have less than 10 posts - sorry about that ... Never mind, I'll pop it on eBay, just thought someone on this forum would like the opportunity before ...

Re: Newbie
Well ... managed my first run out on the VTR today .... I have a Thunderace, a GSXR 7/11 and several 9R's etc. ... I really didn't expect, and TBH I didn't want to enjoy the Firestorm .. I rode one a few years ago and didn't really like it, so I thought it'd be more of the same - I only got it ...
Re: Project
Hmmm .. hadn't thought about the SP1/2 engines ... are they roughly similar to the VTR then ..? Could be easier to mount I guess - does the SP use side mounted rads too ?
Re: Project
The sa is mounted to the frame on the Spondon, not the engine, so I'd think it'd be feasible too

Project
Righty ho ... with the 'storm that's arriving on Tuesday is included a Spondon modified frame and a Spondon swingarm ... the plan for that is to build a project (funnily enough). I'm no stranger to wielding a spanner, so i'm not worried about getting down and dirty with it all ... but was wondering ...

Re: Newbie
Well .. it's coming on Tuesday, so I'll see how I feel - picked a Thunderace up yesterday, bit tattier than I thought, but nice engine
It's nice to have a choice of ride, they all do different things well ... I'm looking forward to seeing how the 'Storm performs..

Re: Newbie
I'll check those CCT's out - I take it there's a sticky somewhere for 'em? We'll see about the winter bike thing - I rode a mate's 'Storm a few years ago, and remember being unmoved by it - capable but ultimately functional rather than pant wetting ... still, we'll see if age has altered my outlook ...

Afternoon .... I will, very shortly, be the owner of a 33k '99 Firestorm in blue (shortly to go black I suspect :D ) The 'Storm joins my happy little stable, alongside the Thunderace, GSXR 7/11, ZX9R B models (a few of 'em - I like the 9R :D), ZXR750 'fighter and several others (I get bored *really ...
