rattling when warm only and rattling before you fitted CCTs?

Someone will be able to inform you way better than me, but maybe tight valves? Cam chain not tight enough adjust manuals needed? Maybe bent valves already if your old CCTs had gone?

Can you post a video of the sound?

Before you changed the old cct's, did you check to see if one had a broken spring?

i.e was it a failure that prompted the change, or preventative?
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

Hi, Im also new to VTR1000s and have a rattle from the engine at very low revs (Between 1000 - 2000revs). I was advised it may be the front cct so have had it changed but just recieved a call from the bike shop to say theres no change. Its no different when the clutch is engaged and is louder when warm. The bike pulls like a train and starts first time. Any ideas would be gratefully received???
Thanks.

Have you had the bike long? is it a new noise or is it just noisier than you last bike?

Hi, just had the bike, usually ride GSXR 1000s. Took it to 2 bike shops and they both thought it was the cct. My friend owns the shop its at so he wouldn't try and rip me off and said he will investigate further. Ive never owned a vtr1000 before so didn't really know what they are supposed to sound like. The only way I can describe the sound is like the rattle you get off flat slide carbs when you throttle off??

They are pretty noisy engines as standard, with a 500cc piston whinging round. But don't mess about fitting new Honda tensioners, fit some manuals to make sure you are in control of the tension. But don't be tempted to over tighten....lots of data on this in the workshop section.

Have u got manual cct's installed or standard ones?? If you have standard one then get some manual ones fitted & see if the rattle goes. If it is still there then it could be valve clearances.
