Yep, nothing to worry about.
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

Well Guys,
Top Tip for ya,
Before taking off the whole exhaust cleaning it up and replacing all the gaskets and clamps if you have this issue, FIRST check that the vacuum pipe that you adapted to make carb balancing easier has the blanking screw in the end of it.

I'd be buggered if I didn't do all the gaskets and then think oh what is that screw doing there and find that it had fallen out of the rubber vacuum hose adaptation.
Replaced the screw and strangely enough runs tip top again, no popping etc just the sweet extremely loud noise of my cans again.

Never mind and thanks again for all your tips.

Cheers
Geoff

I thought I would resurect this thread rather than start a new one, it may help someone new like me thats just searched for loud popping on decel. I was hoping to find out if there may be any disadvantage to it? damage to valve seats? exhaust gaskets? Unfortunately no one has mentioned it so I am looking for an answer here, anyone know if theres a drawback? One thing to note is it isnt the normal odd noise you get on the storm, its like having a leak in the exhausts.

I would also like to offer another reason for it been so prominent with aftermarket cans and baffle removal as it hasnt been mentioned in this thread, I had my CCT's done at the weekend by Tony.mon and to his delight he found I had the Pair system, (ok he wasnt that delighted but fair play to him for not charging me extra, Cheers Tony!) something I thought was only fitted to Superhawks, turns out not to be the case, Mine is a 05 plate. Well I decided to check the other forum for removal instructions as the extra pipes are a bit of a faf, BINGO, one of the reasons they rip it out is to stop the popping with aftermaket cans and no baffles. Thats a deal breaker for me, I love the sound so the Pair system is staying, (providing its not detrimental to the bike) so for anyone who has asked the question like me, 'is that normal?' Its NOT if NORMAL is a UK Storm with no leaks in the exhaust system and no Pair (prob 99% of them). Personally I now deliberately use engine braking as much as poss, :D for anyone looking like I was, the Pair system injects air from the Filter box into the hot exhaust gas to ignite unburnt fuel on deceleration, hense the possibilty of mis reading it as a leak in the joints.
