Wee tweaks!

Hi, Just a few pics of the bike. I was looking at tweaking it a little and so far I've done the partial bafflectomy(?!) - 4 x 12mm holes in rear of each can and now sounds sweet!

Ive also added the new grips which make a surprising difference, better control as the old (original) grips were (in hindsight) quite slippy.

Also tidied the back end by reducing the size of the under tray and size of the number plate (though technically is illegal now but still looks a sensible size in my opinion). Stock rear indies replaced by smaller, more discreet but just as bright (almost) ones.

Re-cycled rear indies - gave to bigspanishmarty.

... and went for flush LED front indies but didn't like them so went for these - not as flush but bigger and not LED, so no probs with flash rate. I like them!

Plan now is to save up for a mod on the rear shock (new, mid-range) and up grade front forks springs/oil as it is wooly/floppy as hell - feels like tyre is flat when more than a bit of brake is used, horrible. £££££££s! Might put 4mm of spacing under current rear shock sometime soon?

Haha, v good, however I must admit I did used to own an MX-5 - in my defence it was the bigger engine so it had some punch! Yellow I guess is like the marmite syndrome, but I love it. Thanks for your constructive comments boys!!

Lloydie, ta. Got manual CCTs- first thing I did!! Yep totally about the suspension, just need to save!! Ref the hid light - I don't know much about it - how is it to fit and which model did you go for - I see H1, 3, 4, 7, 9 , 11 - but I have done a few night rides recently and surprised with how unhelpful the stock lights are - Also which tyres do you run?

I had a little slippy moment around roundabout near me the other day - felt both wheels went a little but mainly rear. Id like to say it was my skill that stopped it but was not, just complete luck!!

H4 hi/lo hids works very well but not at mot time
Ive put linear spring in the forks form
Mct
And when I get a nitron rear shock
That will have a linear spring to
As I've found the progressive to be
To soft then to hard and trying to set the sag is a nightmare
As for tyres I use scubs power ones
The grip is the best
But crap in the wet

Looking good there, I agree with lloydies list, but rather that HIDs you can get a relay system wired in an run higher wattage bulbs, makes a big difference after dark. Search for "eastern beaver" kits.

And don't worry about the kids, it's just yellow envy, they know now that they should have bought yellow one, but the macho pride won't let thm admit it

Hi Griff. Nice clean bike. I'm saving up for a rear shock mod myself. I'm looking for the cheap option, a softer spring for more comfort on the back as I am a lightweight. Y is for Yeehaa and Yellow, B is for boring and black (and blue)
Us yellow bellies are going to have to stick together on here I think.

thought it was worth a punt at that price, seen as i don't do big mileage (no mileage at the mo ) i thought it wasn't worth spending twice as much on a top quality system.
i also had a 5mm shock spacer knocking around, if i can find the dam thing, i'll get it posted to you mate.

In the Department's (of Transport) view it is not legal to sell or use after market HID lighting kits, for converting conventional Halogen headlamps to HID Xenon. If a customer wants to convert his vehicle to Xenon HID he must purchase completely new Xenon HID headlamps. The reason for this is that the existing lens and reflector are designed around a Halogen filament bulb, working to very precise tolerances. If one places a HID "burner" (bulb) in the headlamp, the beam pattern will not be correct, there will be glare in some places and not enough light in other places within the beam pattern...

...it is not permitted to convert an existing halogen headlamp unit for use with HID bulbs. The entire headlamp unit must be replaced with one designed and approved for use with HID bulbs and it must be installed in accordance with the rules stated above.
