My storm has a new battery, the bike is used reguraly and will restart just fine when stopping during a trip or a little while later after getting off.
The problem is that when my bike is parked up in the garage overnight (or a few hours), there doesn't appear to have enough juice in the battery to start it. I end up either bumping it or getting a jump from the car (without engine turned on). After that, off I go and all is fine even if I turn off straight away and start it again. The bike only fails to start after a night in the garage, or after being parked up for a couple of hours.
I have tried several start up methods. Turn it over a couple of times without choke then pull it out on next start. the usual of pull out choke then try to start. Even try to start with no choke and a bit of throttle. All to no avail. After a few turns all I hear is a rapid clicking noise from the sealed compartment behing the battery. It appears to be flat but when I put it on the charger, the lights indicate that the battery is about two thirds charged! I have been stuck far from home a few weeks back after leaving the bike for 5 hours with the same no starting result, cue the AA!
I have had the battery checked out from the guy who sold me it and all is fine....its a sealed lead acid.
I would appreciate all input thanks.
