Maybe because the engine is quite refined for a twin I haven't noticed much difference using some bling aluminium ones to replace the (damaged) original ones.
(Or maybe it's because compared to the Griso it feels incredibly smooth!!)
Do they have any other function apart from reducing vibration? (Apart from protecting the bars of course!)
Anyone fitted anything different from standard and noticed a marked increase or reduction in vibration?
I have a condition that causes me problems with my hands when the temperature drops and vibration seems to make it worse. Heated grips are of course heavenly and if I could do it stylishly I would fit handguards......

On the original bars with the Firestorm forks I replaces them with billet ones can't say as I noticed a difference tbh
Gone back to normal items on the blade forks no real reason other than they came with the 954 bars

Re: What bar end weights?
does anyone know what the original ones weigh? at work so can't weigh mine at mo, thinking of some different ones, but wondering about the weight before i tackle the fitting issue
slow is smooth, smooth is fast
Re: What bar end weights?
Raynaud's?
Standard ones are quite heavy to damp vibration. Most aftermarket are relatively lightweight so might not do the job as well as OEM

Re: What bar end weights?
orig ones are steel, so if you put aftermarket Aluminium ones on they will have to be a good bit bigger to even weigh the same as the stock ones.
I have fitted bigger steel aftermarket ones, and that helps vibrations [but my bike is worse than others normally!].
This is my first year after 36 yrs biking that I have got heated grips and I am kicking myself for not doing it earier..........bloody briliant, even in summer early morning or evening as the temp drops I pop them on low and hands love it

Re: What bar end weights?
It is indeed. I'm also having problems with my thumb joints which are being treated for Psoriatic Arthritis but I'm wondering if this is actually related to the Reynaud's and caused by vibration. I really should get some Renthal bars - won't help the vibration but will take the weight off my hands.Wicky wrote:Raynaud's?
