Re: Fuel issues ???
Yea been stored in the dry, it' didn't run long enough to get too hot ...
Re: Fuel issues ???
Looking at your other post did you ever get to the bottom of it with the TPS. I don't think a faulty TPS would make the bike cut out. And it's strange how when it cools down it starts again, which could be a clue to the problem. A faulty TPS would certainly make the bike run rough and misfire. If you think the TPS is at fault your best bet is a cheap set of 2nd hand carbs as they are very expensive to buy new.
The only thing I can suggest is you download the workshop manual http://www.vtr1000.org/phpBB3/viewtopic ... 25#p145453 and go through things in a methodical order, ruling stuff out as you go along. It's no good buying things and just replacing cause you think something is suspect, it's just a waste of money. Swap parts over to test with a fellow stormer if possible Coils ECU (under the seat at rear) go for a test ride see if it resolves things. Electrical wiring faults can be a nightmare to trace sometimes.
I would start with the ignition system, then move on to possible fuel issues, then electrical. Just a thought have you removed and tested and cleaned out the petcock on the fuel tank. There's a gauze filter in there that may be blocked or there may be an intermittent problem with the vacuum feed on it. It's something that don't cost anything to check and rule out.

Re: Fuel issues ???
The previous fault on my threads was missing and poor running on a steady throttle, It never actually cut out, i was told to check the tps and when I did it wasn't sending out a signal. I swapped it out for a second hand one & it was running fine. Then I took the bike of the road
So this has started since then
Tonight I'm gonna check the fuel tap, filter & vaccum hose etc

Re: Fuel issues ???
Hi, i would still give the carbs a good clean, they would have dried out over 5 months, it still sounds like a vacuum hose problem?

Hi the fuel pipe on the right hand side there is a pipe behind it what is this one reason i ask is i took my tank of yesterday to do a job then i put it back together {as you doscott02464 wrote:Here's a pic of mine just to compare to yours mate, note the bottom nubbin/drain hole doesn't have a hose attached.

then when i finished work the bike tried to do it again after about 10mins of riding i just looked at my tap and compared it to yours and ive got the pipe on the bottom nubbin the one you say is a drain hole hope that makes sence

I think most of us have done this mate the first time.dave09 wrote:Hi the fuel pipe on the right hand side there is a pipe behind it what is this one reason i ask is i took my tank of yesterday to do a job then i put it back together {as you doscott02464 wrote:Here's a pic of mine just to compare to yours mate, note the bottom nubbin/drain hole doesn't have a hose attached.
} i went to work on it today then after about 10 mins it started bogging down i pulled over gave it a few revs then it was fine made it to work.

Someone will prob confirm this mate but I'm pretty sure it opens a fuel diaphragm inside the fuel tap. The hose runs from the rear carb inlet and causes a vacuum.
The bottom nubbin is only a drain hole
Hope that helps bud :-)
