Started my manual CCT change - question?
Re: Started my manual CCT change - question?
Yes to both of Mark's points- it's a 1mm pitch thread so a full turn will be 1mm travel.
I've been trying to convince Bazza to use metric fine thread on his, so that a full turn is only .75mm, but the cost is prohibitive.
Adjustment can be carried out on the front one by going in from the side with two 13mm spanners, and doesn't require taking the tank and airbox off.

It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

Thanks Tony that's good to know you can get in with spanners. I covered the bolt in threadlock and put paint marks on to track any movement so I hope its done, thanks again to all of you for superb help/advice and tips, wouldn't have tackled this job without this forum.

Just started mine, got as far as pulling the airbox off and getting ready to take the cam covers off.

Re: Started my manual CCT change - question?
When my wife spends 15mins with her arms aching holding the petrol tank 6" above the bike with 3 gallons of unleaded in it while I take photos of fuel pipe locations and the undoo them is when she really wants to stab me!
Over the years she has been the one holding wheels while I line up rear wheel spindles, holding pieces of steel while looking away as I weld etc etc so she should be used to it by now

Poor lass! If you take your seat off, undo the two 8mm bolts off the front of the tank, then prop the tank up while you take pics, turn fuel tap off and take hoses off. Then no ones arms ache.... :-)alternative_vtr wrote:When my wife spends 15mins with her arms aching holding the petrol tank 6" above the bike with 3 gallons of unleaded in it while I take photos of fuel pipe locations and the undoo them is when she really wants to stab me!

No, let her think she's "helping".scott02464 wrote:Poor lass!
