Poshed up carbs and poshed up screwdriver. It's really difficult finding a clear light with standard bulbs, mine came with the bike. :) The market is flooded with crappy hong kong LEDs with stupid built in indicators which are are illegal and an MOT failure. :(

Looks good Kev those carbs are almost as clean as mine.

Got out & rode it after re-fitting freshly painted bar ends.

Went the long way round a few twisty roads to visit family & friends, unfortunately I had to go through the Dartford Tunnel....

Many an insect paid the ultimate sacrifice today, which reminds me I must go & clean me helmet.....

Up at 6.00am. Crept out of the house for a final blast before starting my cct work. Gaskets on order and needing to empty the tank prior to lifting...As it's still new to me I'm taking it steady. On a local stretch of private road that I subscribe to use I found that Stormin' Norman was still pulling strongly at 120 and was smooth and vibe free. That's it for now, back on the Deauville for work until mods done.

I'm a happy chappy today, got my header pipes sorted. Ended up just getting a couple of spot welds on the front instead of a thread and nut. It's not as if I need to be removing the pipes at all. If the head needs to come off in the future for any reason ie head gasket blown then the welds can be dremelled off and as the head will be off, the old threads can get drilled out properly and replaced then. I'm just glad to be back up and running :D It was so funny riding down to the welders with the front cylinder firing straight out. Backfires and serious popping on the overrun. Got some stares. My cans seem to quite now

Fixed the puncture in my rear tyre......by screwing a screw into it

This was just a test, I haven't used the bike. Used my car for work for the first time in weeks.

Hopefully the Ultraseal/PunctureSafe comes tomorrow then I can take the screw out again.......

Fitted new EBC rear pads, but they seem too wide. The one closest the wheel (opposite the piston) is rubbing quite hard on the disc. It was a bugger to get the wheel back on.

Ran the bike for a bit in gear on the paddock stand and no heat was generated in the disc, so hopefully ok.

Must be careful next time I get out - new front tyre, new pads all round and a (hopefully) puncture repaired rear.

If you ever see Carl working on his (or anyone else's!) carbs with a fag on the go you will realise H&S isn't a strong suit!!

Well today I managed to get around to fitting the brembo brake pads to the bike. Of course pinky, being pinky, took the long way around but eventually got it done. Mental notes made are as follows:

Before you remove the caliper you should losen the pin that holds the pads in. (yes I had to put the caliper on a couple of times before I figured this out.)

Those little one way bleeding valves that are sold on Ebay are shite. The best thing to do if you wasted money on one is throw it away. Clear tubing over the bleed nipple works so much better.

brembo brakes bloody bite!

What should have been a 30 minute job turned into a 2 hour job because, well I am learning all this as we go along, but the end result is I have brakes. My initial thought on the Brembo's are "bloody hell!" Bear in mind I have not tried to stop at any more than 10mph at the moment but the bite is just unreal. I did have a good bit of life left on the old pads but the difference is phenomenal. Can t wait to see what they are like when they have bedded in.

Got to do the back tomorrow (Yes I should have done that years ago but shhh!)
And if the band you're in starts playing different tunes, I'll see you on the dark side of the moon.

Fantastic those brembo pads aint they!

Bit shy of pad tho to start with tho.... but what a pad they are, the standard 954 set up is good with regular pads, but what a difference brembo pads made!

Trying to egg my self on to tighten and check the Cam chain tension, been about 7 month's daily commute use since last done and they now need sorting, starting to get the cam chain rattle noise, i know it will be good for a while but its starting to do my tits in.

Thinking if the shock gets here before Friday i might have a big weekend in the garage and do the shock, adjustments to carbs, Fit the gutted airbox and external pipework, and sort the cam chain slack out
