Yep writing at the same time.
A screwdriver would screw the cct mate, but once you've back the cct off 1/4-1/2 turn you need to lock it off
so to lock it off is just a case of pushing down and twisting so it slots into one of the cross sections.

Right gotta go mate, I'm off to get ready to go to BSM's and then cafe :Hungry: and you have bearings to sort out.

Whether using a screwdriver was said in jest or not, do not rely on a screwdriver for the the stopper mod. Use a locking key, once in the corection position tape over it so it can't come out until you're ready to remove it.
Getting the CCT locked into the required position (once the valve timing has been set up correctly first) before removing it is one of the most important parts of this exercise.

Chris.
Me too, I took that comment as 'he's already set the timing and for this question he's skipped to the plunger head bit'
 that statement could be read either way, it was only when I posted my first (now deleted post) I saw yours that made me think your way :)

cybercarl wrote:Right I'm with you that makes total sense. So the screwdriver would work if it was shaped like a T   Now I understand why it needs to be made beforehand.

and heres a diagram for a key

Mmmm...the dimensions of this are not quite as those in the Honda manual...it's 3mm too long, which prevents it locking in the quadrant grooves on the body. Cut 3mm of the tang (the business end) and, if you want, make the 'handle' a bit longer to make using it a bit easier.

Mr.J

URGENT UPDATE: This post is shite!
The dimensions are correct, my mistake, put it down to the ravings of an old man. Sincere apologies to Carl and anyone who read this rubbish!

This made me laugh.

The source of that image is off an old thread on this forum somewhere. I think it may have been posted by a reliable source as well.

Thanks for the input Mr J, nice to know your following along.

tank and air box
That will only take 5mins.

Yeh whenever your ready Private message me (PM) and we will sort something out. Do you have a paddock stand to get the rear wheel off the ground?
I will bring tools with me, what I think we will need and I also have gasket seal for the CCT's. No need to go buying new paper gaskets.

I was at the A3 Car boot today, then in Guildford.
