A screwdriver would screw the cct mate, but once you've back the cct off 1/4-1/2 turn you need to lock it off

so to lock it off is just a case of pushing down and twisting so it slots into one of the cross sections.

Right gotta go mate, I'm off to get ready to go to BSM's and then cafe and you have bearings to sort out.

Whether using a screwdriver was said in jest or not, do not rely on a screwdriver for the the stopper mod. Use a locking key, once in the corection position tape over it so it can't come out until you're ready to remove it.
Getting the CCT locked into the required position (once the valve timing has been set up correctly first) before removing it is one of the most important parts of this exercise.

I hope your setting up the valve timing before removing the CCT's, as in this link below:-

Me too, I took that comment as 'he's already set the timing and for this question he's skipped to the plunger head bit'

Right I'm with you that makes total sense. So the screwdriver would work if it was shaped like a T Now I understand why it needs to be made beforehand.

Mmmm...the dimensions of this are not quite as those in the Honda manual...it's 3mm too long, which prevents it locking in the quadrant grooves on the body. Cut 3mm of the tang (the business end) and, if you want, make the 'handle' a bit longer to make using it a bit easier.

Iv just measured to one im sending Carl (measured through the envelope) and the shank is 17mm and works fine ;-)

hi guys been away from computer so catching up ok carl i.m going to check that i can unscrew that cap and pick up some m8 bolts and i,m going to need to take tank and air box out ready and arrange a day to do the mod. i would like to thank everybody for all there input in this job i am very gratefull to you all. carl i will speak to you soon and thankyou for your offer off help.

I will bring tools with me, what I think we will need and I also have gasket seal for the CCT's. No need to go buying new paper gaskets.
