oil leak

after finding an oil leak around one of the bolts holding the rear rocker cover in place, i think i've come up with the problem, i believe there should be a rubber mounting washer under the bolt, this isn't there.....grrrrr
god knows where its gone
whats david silvers phone number again

can anyone confirm there should be a rubber washer there???????

You may be able to use a rubber washer from a hardware store. A tap washer maybe be the right size. It would at least go as a temporary fix

i have previous history with them.....grrrrrr!
anyways bought and fitted, and now know oil leaking fingers crossed.......

Did you check that you hadn't accidentally put 2 washers on one bolt when it was off previously??

nope....
i wasn't the one who put the rocker cover on last.....hahaha
its a good point tho, i will check it out tomorrow before riding the bike......

They often stay stuck to the bolt head, but sometimes they stay stuck to the rocker cover, so you have to check they've all got one (and just the one) on reassembly.
It's metal side up, btw, and it's marked with the word UP, just to make it foolproof.

I suppose your propensity for parking it upside down doesn't help with the orientation of the seals either!!!

nothings leaked yet so its all good chaps, and kev sometimes i think riding with two wheels on the tarmac is very restricting....
