They all do that, Sir, sooner or later.

Ah, well, once it's fixed you'll be ok, unless the RR lets you down, then it'll be ok for ever.
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

Welcome! Sorry to hear about he CCT, sh1t happens. :(

This forum is great and there is loads of advice in workshop area, so many helpful Storm riders here. Bought my Storm three weeks ago luckily I did my CCT's day before yesterday! Stopper mod. Deep breath put the old girl back together again it's an awesome bike!

Depression is OVER
1 VTR1000 back on the road.
Manual cam chain tensioners fitted, as supplied by this guy here :

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/280994380415? ... 1497.l2649

Nice sturdy pieces of kit. Delivered on time and made in the UK. Support our workers and buy local.

Chain & sprockets fitted .... 1 down on drive 2 up on rear wheel ..... should cruise nicely at road legal speeds
Steering head bearings now fitted along with new head gasket, valves were fine but coolant was in the sump & froth coming up from front cylinder breather pipe.
All in all parts cost just on £250 , so i'm well chuffed.

Thanks to all for saying hi , and all of the words of encouragement. Will try to post some pics when i manage to get out on her .... up to my ears in work atm as well , so riding time is limited. She will be eating up some tarmac very soon
later
