Hi guys. Hope nobody has suffered / will suffer too much by the floods!? Whilst riding for 4 hrs yesterday my indis stopped functioning! They would work every now and again but didn't work for the last hour of journey. I've been in the wind and rain over the last few days so could be that but not sure where to start.
Any body heard of this problem before with theirs? Not ideal changing lanes etc with no indicators!
Regards and may I be the first to wish all on the forum Happy Christmas!! Ha! Griff.

Lloydie. Ta for that. It's been drying out in garage (apart from me washing it today, twas filthy) for 24 hrs. I've just sprayed WD40 into indi switch but no joy. The, what I think must be the indi relay, (right hand side, behind R/R) makes an erratic series of clicks when I select L or R, but with no lights lighting up.
I wonder if a problem is causing the relay to click like this and not light the indies or the relay is at fault?
Mmmm. Oh well, soon be Christmas! Griff.

I would leave it for a few days to dry out, I suspect water has probably got in somewhere with the amount of rain over the last few days
. WD will help dissipate any water but too much will add to the problem. But if you getting an erratic clicking sound from the relay it's sounds dodgy. Maybe water in the switchgear could cause this but I would not have thought so.You could check the relay, I just can't see how water will get up behind the fairing to soak that area, so if it's not the switchgear causing it, then it's probably faulty. It may be worth unplugging it and reconnecting to see what happens. Also give the relay a tap, it's like something inside the relay has got stuck and jamming it causing erratic clicking. It could be a spring or something inside jamming up.

Then just open the tap, and .......cybercarl wrote:.Also give the relay a tap,

It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.
Re: Indicators stopped working!!
I'm an idiot! I bought a new indi relay from David silvers, although I saw one on eBay! £40 del.
Arrived. Still not working.
Opened up switch and used hair dryer in it and hey presto all works!!!
Live and learn! Griff.
