Crap metal repair
Does anyone have a repair method for the monkey metal that lock barrels are made from? I've got a worn lug on mine and I'd like to be able to repair it.
Cheers

There was an article in either Classic Motorcycle mechanics or Practical Sportsbikes a couple of months ago about repairing Jap bike locks. I will dig it out for you and scan it up.

You do not have to say anything. But it may harm your defence if you do not mention when posting something which you later rely on in quote. Anything you do say may be ripped to sh*t.

Looks like just the job for fixing worn through clutch casings

It may be that your whole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warning to others.

Re-reading your post, I don't know whether this will be of any use to you mate, but as promised I have scanned the article from the June 2012 issue of Practical Sportsbikes mag -

If you can't read the scanned version and it's of any use to you pm me your e-mail and I will buzz it to you.

Chris, you've lost your V and R

Two bikes, still only four cylinders!

Re: Crap metal repair
I'm not sure what has happened to them Paul, but I'm amazed you and Kev L mentioned it, I imagined no one took any notice of them. Obviously I was wrong
I have a feeling this has happened before quite sometime ago. I think they came back on their own. If they don't I'll either have a Honda T1000 Firestorm
or I'll need to look for them on my old hard drive.

Re: Crap metal repair
i have used the hts 2000 to fix some alloy bits and bobs its something every biker should have great stuff and very easy to use

told you not to but oh no you knew better
Re: Crap metal repair
Now that is mighty impressive looking stuff. As good as welding. Good find.

It's on ebay too http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_trksi ... &_from=R40
I've found JB weld, the rolly poly putty chemical reaction stuff does not last. Especially on high stress points like footpegs for example. It also seems to weaken or become brittle in the freezing weather.
