wicky...i don't think it was down to just one thing...i fitted coils that i trusted was working and only after borrowing a multimeter and testing that i found one of the plug caps and HT lead weren't the best :eek2 ..then when i took the fuel tap back off i noticed the o-ring hadn't sat right and was nipped on the edge which must of drawn air in :redface and after cleaning the air filter for the 3rd time and only very lightly oiling it that everything came together....in my defence tho i am naturally right handed so working with only my left hand is still alien to me,but saying that thats no excuse for not checking everything three times..

all you remote armchair diagnostees are top blokes

From that I'd hazard the guess it was most likely the wonky HT cap.
It may be that your whole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warning to others.
