I thought you fixed the ear problem Carl.
Dam, not another typo. :problem:
Ah but lloydie Carl is a vegetarian...
I eat Chicken. God knows what they are serving me in chicken burgers these days. It could be a rock-a-doodle doo :eek2

Those Corn flakes look good. :biggrin

On a serious note, I think it's bang out of order what the Supermarkets have done. It just goes to show the extremes they will go to, to save a few quid and make more profit. Someone should be locked up for this. I hope in the future the food inspectors will not be connected to the supermarkets in any way and do regular thoroughbred checks.

{edit] I think it's not my spelling/typos, but the forum spell check/bad language thingy majig is messing me around.[/edit]

Many moons ago when I was a sixth-form student I worked Saturdays at a local branch of Sainsburys. It was great fun except for two managers coincidently called Pratt who delighted in making sure any vegetarians were rostered to work in the butchery dept. I had a few shifts in butchery , always well fed as you could make little fry ups on the heat plates of the machine used to cellophane wrap and seal polystyrene trays of meat. We also made the 'beef' mince on the premises which included out-of-date lamb and pork that hadn't sold which was recycled, along with big bags of 10kg purple/green coloured vacuum compacted meat from goodness knows where which was added to the mix.

One time I'd just mixed a big tray of mince and a fly buzzed by so I gave it a swat - unfortunately I couldn't find the dead fly and not wanting to have to throw away all the mince - so within 1/2 hours it was all packaged and priced and on the shopfloor. Thank goodness they didn't have DNA testing then - still its all protein

The full time butchers were characters - one of them I remember retired after goodness knows how many years, reminiscing about how Sainsbury's wouldn't give him the time off on Saturday to get married., then the poor bloke died a month after retirement. This left nudist butcher Kelvin in charge and he didn't last long as he got caught pricing prime steak as cheaper cuts for the ladies on the tills. It was rude awakening to the real world™ as a young lad.

If we can't trust the supermarkets and whoever else then we should go back to hunting our own food. No one would have to work then, to buy food. We should be free to build a home where ever we want, generate I own power. I think it would be much better way of life. Families will get to spend more time together. Father and sun can go out hunting while mum and daughter stay behind and look after the home. Or even swap role if they wish. Modern times have advanced to the point where it is not good way of life and is having an opposite affect of improving things. Bills, stress, people working all hours, no time to enjoy life and spend time with family having fun etc etc. If we could step back in time a century or two maybe the world would be a better place and we will know what we are eating. :)

My first Saturday job used to be in a high st butchers. I remember using the meat hanging up in the big fridge as punch bags when I should have been washing down the walls.

That's a very very poor excuse Carl...

Since when has 'eat' been a swear word ?

By the way I looked up in the dictionary your eating disorder & this is the definition & historical reference it gave...

I'm pretty good with snares and man traps. Nice big pointed sticks in the bottom of a dug out and covered over with surrounding bush/debris. A bit like laying foundations really. :biggrin

Ha Ha, I was thinking today that there is a chain of ''Gastro-pub's'' or whatever call them these days, called 'the Hungry Horse'. I bet the owners are thinking about a re brand any day soon...
