fuel tank stolen

Hello just replaced fuel tank, need some help with pipework, have fitted main fuel line from each carb, also small vacum pipe from front of rear carb to side of petcock. what I have left is two vacum hoses running down the left side of engine . Ithink these might be overflows but not long enough maybe broken when removed. also at the rear of engine is a vacum pipe very thin with a T piece on the end it seems to come from rear shocker area. any help appreciated. can send photos but cant get them on here thanks

If the petcock is done then all you have left is an overflow and a breather that connect directly under the tank.



The T piece has obviously been added for an extra vaccum take off for either a Scottoiler or a front cylinder vacuum take off for carb syncing. This will need to be capped off or removed.

So what's the Story with old tank, a bit a strange thing to steal unless it was a rare 19L. Was anything else stolen.

Thanks , the scot oiler thing sounds good. It was small tank they undone the front bolts a just ripped of the rear mounting. so probably no use now. Would it be ok to route the breather pipes straight down ftom rear of tank

They don't route straight down but route down toward the front side of sump area and hang loose. Just get a safe route where they wont melt on anything too hot. There may some pictures in the workshop manual that show the route.

Thieving b8stard!. Never heard of that happening before, presumably they were after the fuel. Imagine they had a surprise when they realised how little was in there

Here's some pictures of the routing of the breather and overflow pipe.

As you can see they run down the left side of the engine




And pretty much follow the main loom along the frame towards the front and hang loose in front of the generator cover.




If you have a fairing lower or belly pan on then it's important not to block the ends of these so best to have them hang slightly above the bottom of lower fairing/belly pan.
