Thought you guys would be interested in the repair I have done to the fairing bracket

I have used Durafix: http://durafix.co.uk/

I am sure there are other makes

Filed down the ends, then used a wire brush with stainless steel wires to clean it up

Placed in a vice making sure it is all lined up

Used a plumbers gas torch to heat up the parts and when hot enough let the rod melt into the joint

Filed down the over fill and bobs your uncle





Now fitted to the bike so let's see if it holds up

Hey Flatline I hope that part is not too visible your filing is a bit rough round the edges

It will be interesting to see whether it holds together. I have used Durafix as a filler but not to fix bits which are load bearing.

Check the videos of the stuff. You can even drill out stripped threaded bolt holes fill the hole & push the bolt back in & hey presto it forms a new thread. Could be the end of helicoils. I bet if Flatline were to try & hammer the end off he would buckle the whole component before it would break at the welded joint.

Well, this seems to have held up ok

Been on a while and covered a fair few miles

So looks like it works
