Front sprocket cover

Post by Miztaziggy »

I know it isn't a Storm, but bear with me, I am thinking of taking off the cover to clean behind it, but the clutch is connected to it.

I did take it off on the storm once, and it was fairly simple, just kept the rod in far enough that clutch fluid didnt leak out / air get in.

Looking at the cover on the blade, it **looks** like the same sort of thing, just wondering if anyone can confirm if this is the same as the Storm, where I would unbolt the clutch slave cylinder and inside it will be attached to a rod going through the bike? I really don't want to take it off if it's massively different and im gonna piss clutch fluid everywhere.

take the lever off, then it wont push the piston out.
You do not have to say anything. But it may harm your defence if you do not mention when posting something which you later rely on in quote. Anything you do say may be ripped to sh*t.

if its like the storm then the slave piston has a spring behind it so the piston will come out by itself anyway, cable tie or some tape round the slave piston once its removed should remove the need to bleed the clutch afterwards.

Leave the cover in place, park the bike over a tray with absorbent cat litter in.
Fill a garden pressure sprayer with Gunk or paraffin, spray into the clutch cover area.

You will definitely need to re-oil the chain though.
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

Lovely, thanks, might try that, because I couldn't get the b8stard cover off anyway, it's on so tight, and part of the cooling system is bolted on blocking it, would mean draining that down I guess, and I really can't be bothered
