I can't see me ever selling it TBH. It fits me really well, more than fast enough to scare me silly sometimes and handles great for the way I ride.

It's had a few modifications over the years but nothing too extreme. The heads have had a little bit of porting work and a tiny skim, the carbs were rejetted to suit along with a modified airbox and k&n filter. It used to have a lovely pair of Akrapovic titanium cans but a rather anal local plod got a bee in his bonnet about them and eventually caught up with me and gave me a rectification notice along with a warning that if he ever saw me with those cans again he'd impound and crush it  Had to put the standard cans back on so it's a bit strangled...

I've had 2 CCT's go tits up on me, both on the front pot but luckily both times I was sat at tickover at lights so no damage done. I got a friend who used to work at a engineering company to make me some replacement springs from metal that is fit for the job (unlike the sh1t that honda use) and not had one go again

It eats rear tyres and chains, drinks petrol like Sir John Mills at the end of Ice Cold in Alex and has high sided me into a hedge twice but I wouldn't swap it for anything.

So does mine, it's like an alcoholic. Great classic film. I think I have that on DVD somewhere.

Hi Penfold, welcome to the forum

You've made me realise I've had my Storm for just over 12yrs :D

How did you go about setting the correct tension for the standard CCT when fitting the new spring :?:

Chris.
I took the rear one off that hadn't snapped and my mate put it in some fancy machine that tested the "springyness" of it and made new ones to the same spec. I just wound it back in all the way as if it was a new CCT and locked it with one of those key things then bolted it back on and pulled out the locking key. Turned it over with the plug leads off a few times then started it. It rattled for about 2 seconds then was fine.

I was a member way back in the days before it was a proper BB forum  Probably around 2000-2002 ish.

CCT's were done in 2006 at around 20k miles, it's got 35k on it now.
