Vfr bars

Just wondering if anyones fitted them and if they made much difference, my bike needs braided hoses so could be a good opportunity to do the lot if it was worth the hassle

cybercarl fitted vfr bars, but didn't like them and took them off again. he now has the later model clip-ons, they're 5% rise on them over the early model clip-ons. he likes them very much.........

Yeh I did not like the upright position just did not feel right to me. That's why I would not put Renthals on my bike. If I wanted to sit upright, I would get a different bike. The later Storm clip on's are a good compromise. They take the extra strain off my wrist combined with a HRC quick action throttle tube.

I fitted them - can't say they make you sit "upright" like Renthals tbh. They are an improvement imho and you can still tuck in when you want to.

Each to there own. I prefer the upright position as it gives me a better feel for the bike & I no longer get any wrist & neck ache.

I still like a race bike with clipons, but the storm works well with flatbars....and I only sit up right when pottering round town, when I'm pressing on I find I am leaning forwards and with we'll bent elbows you are riding the bike without putting pressure on the bars and you get good feedback and control

my mate put vfr bars on too, he likes the added comfort.we only had to trim the fairings a little to get the clearance.

personally i like the storm the way it is.i think tho i would like to sort out some better seat foam/cover for better comfort

I have a Vfr and the Storm. I have had a change in thinking recently that I am actually more comfortable on the Storm over the VFR...Go figure!
The angle of the storm bars is better. I would be minded to do the reverse!!!!

Its somthing im seriously considering, its not to expensive to do and its easy to go back to stock setup if im not happy,thanks for your opinions

I got a set of VFR bars from someone on here and think they do make a good difference. I'm 6' 4" and they managed to take away some of the strain I was getting and actually made the bike more enjoyable to ride. But then I decided to drop the forks through the yokes a little to speed up the steering and now its not quite as enjoyable. For my height I love the bike but dont really like the standard riding position.

I did have to cut the fairing a little but found that the pipes cables etc were just about long enough. Clutch pipe is a little tight though but I can get away with it.

Personally I will probably head the Renthals route once funds allow as I still have a little trouble countersteering the bike unless I crouch down more than is comfortable for long journeys and the wider slightly higher bars will help. I'm also looking at a way to lower the footpegs slightly too as I feel like a grasshopper with my legs up so high.

I have done VFR800 clip ons prior to installing Apex 4" bars.

To get full lock to lock steering, fairing trimming is required either way... That turns off most folks from the mod I'd guess.. but for some (me) it was raise the bars or buy a new bike...

Just sold my VFR bars, new owner thinks the 1.5" rise is perfect for him.. to each his own.

VFR bars are cheap at the breakers or ebay.. try um, and do so without cutting the fairing for a few rides... if you like it, cut away if not, you can resale them easy.
