Re: Replacing Loom
There are two more that are small rectangular block connectors, one goes to the rear ignition and one to the fuel low level sensor- don't get those mixed up....they're both very near the battery.

yup, i think you and tony are onto something, we made that mistake once, but we rectified it fairly quickly...cybercarl wrote:Mmmm Most of the connectors on the Storm can't get mixed up but IIRC there are two up front that cancheck the connector from the right bar control/starter switch is connected into the correct block on the loom at the front. I'm sure I have encountered this before on AP's bike.

Re: Replacing Loom
Is the kill switch in the on position ?
Re: Replacing Loom
Hi Lloydie,
Ive checked and double checked the kill switch so im certain that wont be the cause.

Re: Replacing Loom
if it wont turn over it has to be one of a few things:
1) the kill switch
2) the sidestand switch
3) Ignition key
4) st6arter button
5) no voltage getting to the starter solenoid [either the power side [30A fuse, etc], or the signal side which should engage the solenoid]

Re: Replacing Loom
one quick check is to take a 12V wire from batt +ve to the Solenoid signal positive and it clicks & cranks, your problem is upstream of there. if you get nothing then the problem is on the solenoid and below.
in my first post I should have said that the problem will be in the wiring to each of thise items as the switches were working before you did the loom change

Re: Replacing Loom
I've been thinking about this!! As you look at the loom at the front fairing stay, there are two plug bundles. Trace the connector plug from the starter switch control down to the plug bundle you plugged it into, and unplug it and plug into the connector block in the the other bundle. I'm sure there are two the same but the blocks are colour coded different. And IIRC I think they are separated into each connector bundle so they don't get mixed up. Well... that''s what Honda thought.

Hi all,
The storm is back running. Much appreciated all your help.
It turns out both cybercarl & tony.mon were correct as I had the white & black connectors swapped under the seat (ill blame that on the white connector being dirty) and she fired straight away after swapping the green connectors at the front.
Thanks again guys have a beer on me
