well done theo, I've just seen this thread, but I had the same problem, and I totally agree that when you first ride the bike after the timing has been corrected, it puts a hell of a smile on your face......
for me the problem was around the 6000rpm mark, the bike would rev past it and up to the redline but it felt like it was being strangled at 6000rpm.

The sound, acceleration is mad!!!!!!! I believe that the cans are producing the most amazing sound (something between akrapovic and devil) but loud and so melodic. I'll post a video with the correct timing!!
