ktec fork springs
I have just received some new k tec fork springs for the storm linear weight matched 9.0.. I'm wondering what weight oil to use with them anyone got any ideas?
Re: ktec fork springs
5wt -7.5wt oil with 140mm air gap

I've now gone all European and bought a KTM Superduke GT and Aprilia RSV1000R

Also I take it I just have t use the standard spacers etc
Re: ktec fork springs
the total free length of the spring and spacer should 410mm, cut spacer as necessary to acheive this IIRC K-tec springs are the same length as OE so the stock spacer should be OK.ninja636109 wrote:Also I take it I just have t use the standard spacers etc

If you have one then great. You can't beat the right too for the job. But if not, why spend money on something that gets used once in a Blue moon. Sand a little off the circumference of the old seal so it don't get stuck, and use that as a barrier to protect the new seal. You can then use a tube over the stanchion, pvc pipe or something, to tap the seal down or even use a hammer and drift to gently tap it down into place evenly. Will I need a special tool to press the new fork seals in?

Or heat the portion of the lower fork leg where the seal sits with hot water to expand it a bit to make fitment easier. Just tip it over the outside of the lower leg.
Cheers
