Is this a damaged valve? I rode it round the block, and it doesn't feel down on power.

All I checked was that the valves were fully closing with the cam, as i believe they wouldn't close fully if they were bent?sirch345 wrote:Seeing as you had a CCT fail, I'm assuming you checked the valve timing when you fitted the new manual cam chain tensioners by removing by both cam covers. If the timing was out, only by a few teeth even you could still have bent some valves. A check of the valve clearances should have been carried out at that point really. The tell-tale sign of bent valves by doing a valve clearance check is, the clearances will be far too much.
What Wicky suggests is probably your best option now, although you could check that all the hoses are connected properly on the air box, especially the one that is hard to get at that connects under the air box base on the front left hand side (side stand side).
Chris.
Will have to get my hands on a compression tester that fits.Wicky wrote:Might want to try a commpression test / check valve clearances to assertain if valve damage.
How did you check? Visually?bald_pig wrote:All I checked was that the valves were fully closing with the cam, as i believe they wouldn't close fully if they were bent?sirch345 wrote:Seeing as you had a CCT fail, I'm assuming you checked the valve timing when you fitted the new manual cam chain tensioners by removing by both cam covers.
