A few weeks ago I reported that the bike was spluttering, then went to one cylinder.
I managed to nurse it home
Into the workshop and a bit of a fiddle later it's working
Go for a ride, it coughs, splutters and dies
Get some coils from Mac
Fit them, fires up first time
Hurrah! I hear you shout
Unfortunately, half an hour later it coughs then does not start
Check for a spark
There isn't one!
So, assuming the coils have stopped working, why?
What would ruin the coils?
Bike stopped again. Electrical problem

Shorting to the frame, have you mounted them correctly, when you crank it over look for a spark from the coil to the frame.

Agree, check for a short first as this is the most likely. The next thing down the line then is the converter unit (you are still on the storm arn;t you flatty?
) The converter unit switches and amplifies the voltage to the coils. If it's not switching off, the magnetic field that has been created wont collapse and induce induce a high voltage spark.

Fuel vac pipe fitted correctly, Tony's bike had similar problem on a ride out and that was the fuel valve diaphram I think, yours could be on the way out.
Re: Bike stopped again. Electrical problem
He's got to sort the no spark out before moving onto fuel.
