Throttle position sensor.
Had a nightmare of a job refitting the carbs. Ended up heating, greasing, grunting and groaning to get them on. I loosened the bolts on the surround brackety thing. In doing so I managed to break the TPS. Honda wanted £154 for a new one. Got one for £17 on eBay but broke it when fitting. Exactly the same position. Balls!! Is there a cheaper aftermarket one I could get to fit? None on eBay. Only ones attached to carbs for £60 odd. Also any tips to fit it without breaking it?

Re: Throttle position sensor.
Be gentle when fitting it .
It's only two screws and you need to make sure it's located correctly .
As you've seen they come on carbs and you normally have to buy a set to get one .

I did exactly the same and managed to get a 2nd hand one on eBay. You just have to make sure it's located and doesn't jump out as you tighten the screws. I had to pay around £20 for the TPS. Some Honda cars use a very similar sensor but I think the arm position would need to be checked. Didn't manage to find a new one at a reasonable price. Good luck with the search.
If you've over-cooked it, just lean it over more.

Make sure it has the metal inserts in the bolt holes or you will break them ![Thumbup ](./images/smilies/icon_thumbup.gif)
