They are from an SP. The Oval pipe at the cylinder end is a give away. Tony may be interested in these though as he's has is oval porting project.
The TB cans/pipes are bit too bashed up for my liking on closer inspection.

Interestingly although the port looks oval, it's actually a round port and pipe end, but then both the port and the pipe end are partially filled in to speed up the exhaust gases exiting the port.
The experiment Carl is referring to is meant to replicate this, as I can explain some of the horsepower differences between the tw engines but there is a missing 5bHp or so, and I think the port work is what makes the difference. But I'm dependent on a skilled machinist to do the work, and he's been very busy, so the project has stalled at the moment.
The pipe diameter is larger than a Storm one, though, and so with a pipe of the Storm's standard diameter it may well be that the restriction would obstruct flow to a detrimental level, whereas the larger diameter SP pipe NEEDS restricting at that point in order to get gases out of the exhaust port efficiently.
Fascinating, innit?

It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

So it's not just Any Port in the Stormtony.mon wrote:Interestingly although the port looks oval, it's actually a round port and pipe end, but then both the port and the pipe end are partially filled in to speed up the exhaust gases exiting the port.

perhaps.
By the way, they won't fit a Storm without mods to the sump. Another game I have to play at some stage, got the Sp1 sump and need to cut and shut it onto a Storm upper section but then modify the oil pump strainer to suit. It will need shortening and fitting a swan neck.
That allows me to run the front downpipe "through" where the Storm sump currently is, and keep a larger diameter downpipe but without intervening on lean angle.
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.
