Fireblade 1996 front end

Post by StormyRob »

I'm posting this here incase someone is interested in the front end.
I do not have one for sale but I did find one.

I asked him how much for yokes brakes and forks and he said £150 which is dirt cheap.

You don't need the wheel discs or calipers mate

Definitely worth 225 though.

Very cheap at that

Ah ok, didn't know that. I know Yodi from Gixerjunkies days, nearly bought a Gixxer 750 from him a while back. Wanted the wheel and spindle as well though as it looks nice

Just for clarity folks

While this is still for sale £240 will get you

Clipons
Forks
Yokes
Front fender
Front wheel
Discs
Calipers

He does have quite a bit of interest apparently and I believe him but 240 for the whole front is decent.

Depends on what year it is if you want to use the storms wheel and discs .

Yes, you just need new spacers.

I did this swap. Difference is really small, and if you keep stock internals and springs, it is almost useless. Next stage is to upgrade lower triples for better one, making this setup really up to date. Only advantage is adjustable compression.

Send stock forks to Roger D and you will see what is making the difference.

If I do it again:
1. I would upgrade internals - Roger, or new fully adjutable cartridges from Andreani
2. New CNC triples - my works really well and does the difference

+ 1 on that.

Another advantage with the blade forks besides compression adjustment is, they are thicker 43mm dia. stanchions against the Storms 41mm, so should be more rigid.

To get the best from either, they need to be reworked for your specifications IE. body weight and style of riding road/race,

Chris.

45 mm, but with the same crappy one bolt steel lower triples :) I think 41 is fine when the rest is sorted.

Ah my mistake, that's even better
I agree with the single bolt on the lower triples, twin bolts much better,

Chris.
