A mate once put 2 firestorm tanks together, cut the tops off and welded one on top of the other, obviously not the whole tank, it looked pretty good and once painted you had to look twice. Sadly I'm no longer in touch with him and I have no pictures. But it is possible to enlarge the standard tank.

My plan was basically.....

However decided to just do this.

They did an absolutely fantastic paint job...however decal placement was not quite right. Unfortunately they are stripping and redoing it!

Have a look at this thread. It may even be the tank popkat referred to -

Same idea but don't think it's the same tank, that one was silver and done back in 2000, the one in that thread shows the underside and if it had been silver I would have though there would be evidence under, I also seem to remember the join being smoother as in almost invisible, I could be wrong and it might be the same tank, guess we'll never know.. I don't think it's that hard to do once you find a welder happy to take it on and 2 spare tanks.

Scott bought it from a guy on E Bay and had it sprayed up to match his bike. Not a bad looking effort though.

Fixed it for you lloydie. X
Why ask... sometime you just go to do it and find out?
