Hi All
My engine casing has a hole in it that someone's bodged with liquid metal or something.
I've got a replacement but I need to know if I'll need a new gasket? I've for the part code - 11394-MBT-010 - but it's £30 delivered!! That seems to be about the best price too.
So will I need one and does anyone know of a cheaper supplier?
Cheers
Changing Engine Casing, Gasket Required?
Re: Changing Engine Casing, Gasket Required?
yes you'll probably need a new gasket when taking off the cover as it'll likely adhere to the mating surfaces and need scraping off.
When replacing you can use http://delta-adhesives.co.uk/products/i ... oncertina/ liquid multi-gasket on one side of the new gasket and grease on the other - so if you can anytime in the future easily take it off again. Also have you thought about putting on a Carbonadi engine cover?

Re: Changing Engine Casing, Gasket Required?
when you fit the new gasket, put a thin smear of grease on one side of the joint and when you take the case off in the future the gasket will stick to the other side only and wont rip as you remove it........ allowing easy reuse
