I've replaced that one now with another used but okay motor & it sounds exactly the same. I'm flummoxed :sad2

STARTING CLUTCH
CLUTCH, ONE WAY

or all bar the GEAR COMP., STARTER REDUCTION, the little dual cog

If that little cog is missing teeth or it's damaged it'll be that .

The gear is the part that fails, when it does it looks fine but squeals on starting.
The thread gives all the info you need to diagnose the fault and fix it- if you have a spare gearset
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.
