Hi guys,

Looking at these:

Anyone have them? Good/bad? Any better recommendations?

Thanks!

Possibly the best out there TBH, you could probaly but the bearings themselves cheaper but you get the bottom spacer doodah in this kit...

I fitted these particular ones over the winter. I've done a couple of hundred miles and have readjusted them once. They seem fine but, obviously I have no idea how long they will last.

If you have the original ball bearings (which I did) the difference can be marked. Notchy steering and a hands off wobble have gone.

Cheers

Thanks guys,

Yeah notchy steering is definitely something i deal with.
I'm getting my forks looked at this month as i need new oil and there's a 'click' when i brake, dunno what's causing it. Figured it'd be a good time to replace the original bearings.

The "click" could be the stem moving as you brake due to the bearings being worn.

The tapered bearings don't need to be torqued to the same as the ball bearings. You need to "seat" the bearings first with about 35nm, then slacken off and do up to about 3nm and do the locknut up hand tight and put on the lock washer thingy. Then steering stem nut as normal torque.
If it aint broke, get your bloody hands off it!

Make sure that the set you buy comes with too and bottom seals.
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

Another way to seat them is to go for a bumpy ride. Then adjust.

I don't like the way the bottom washer seals tight on the All Balls bearings. I use JMP, they also come with the washer it's a much better fit and the bearings are good quality. All Balls has a catchy name but they are not better than many others out there.
