It is simple, but like I said give the valve clearances a quick check as it's easy to under or overtighten the cam caps down which affects the clearance. Oh...and go easy on them cam cap bolts as they can snap easily especially if old stretched bolts and you do up to the specified torque in the manual. I like to do them up slightly under.
just confusses me as everything lines up.
And this is why it often gets missed. There's two TDC's so make sure your on the compression stroke.
right so plan is. check the engines not out, if it is. going by what iv read. remove the rear cams, and turn the engine one full turn back onto the RT mark..
they also made me wombles my engine...i knew i shouldnt have went near it but it sounded simple..
rear cyl onto comp with RT lined up. with lobes pointing up and inwards.
remove cams.
turn engine one full turn until RT returns to line up at the crank..
one full turn didnt get no RT or anything else to line up .

throw it down you mean..... fuk only knows now were my timing is .completly lost so for now its got the cover over it before i do anymore damage to something.
ok so gave it some thought. im assume i missed the rt mark first time round. so spin it again and it came up... back to were i started ?
so went round another full turn and got the rt mark this time... now am i missing something but iv set the rear cam in. but theres no way i can see of getting the front cam in place. theres just not enough slack in the camchain?....
oh fuk me pink dont tell me that has to come out???? im at the stage now iv no idea what piston is on what stroke anyhow..... nything i read, and iv read myself stupid on the subject i didnt see any mention of taking the cct out?....
