So how much better does the track bike handle with the up-graded blade forks and Ohlins rear shockcompared to your standard road bike suspension,
Chris.
The Fireblade forks are a little shorter than the Storm forks. They are stiffer, have compression and rebound damping adjustment and require slightly larger discs. End result, the bike turns faster and has more braking power. The bike is very stable. Difficult to say about the Ohlins rear, as the bike is set up for track use, and I have not riden it around a track with a stock rear suspension. Fireblade forks are an excellent upgrade, if you want your bike to turn faster.

The 1998/9 Blade RRW/RRX forks I purchased requires 320mm dia discs. The earlier 1994/7 Blade RRR/RRV forks used the same discs as the Storm. I had to have alloy spacers made to enable the larger discs to be fitted to the Storm 17" wheel. I did not want to fit a Blade 16" wheel. Anyone thinking of fitting Blade forks will do better to use the earlier forks, to save on the cost of having spacers specially made up.Stormin Ben wrote:Odd, mine uses the standard brakes!!robnobrakes wrote: . . and require slightly larger discs. I'd second the other comments though, the blade forks are a brilliant mod
