Firstly thank you to everyone on here,as i have with alot of research completely gone from one end of my 1997 vtr to the other, and have replaced and serviced absolutely everything that could be done.
I had the bike running perfect etc, and then stupidly as i was setting up my rear brake foot rest for my long legs, noticed the plastic nut on the rear brake light foot switch had broken, I then took apart the switch leaving the two wires exposed from inside it.
As i then decided to quickly run my bike and put it in my workshop to replace the whole switch, somehow managed to tap the wires with my leg and instantly blew a 10amp fuse in the box next to the battery.
After replacing the fuse, turned on the ignition and now i have no life anywhere apart from a click coming from the starter relay, I have ordered a new one, fitted it today and still only have clicking from the new relay, nothing else.
I have also bridged the positive and negative on the starter relay and had no spark or any sign of the starter motor turning over.
So the battery is totally brand new, starter relay is brand new, all the fuses are ok, when the ignition is switched on I have all the lights working OK,,
Am I right in thinking I could have blown the rectifier and that needs replacing??
Any words of wisdom would mean everything to me as I driving me mad..
Thanks so much Maya
