Firestorm almost finished

Post by rick_vtr »

Hi all,
Here is a before and after picture hope you can tell the difference
Bought ths bike from a member on here in october 2007 for £750
Needed some work doing so far i have :
Painted wheels black
New d207rr's
Rear wavy brake disc
Painted fork legs
New front and rear ebc hh pads
NGK Iridium plugs
Genuine honda Oil and Filter change
Painted belly pan black
R&G Bar ends
L.E.D rear light (yet to fit)
Standard showa rear shock reworked and re sprung by maxton (Yet to fit)
Renthal grips
New o/s/f footrest hanger
Fresh brake and clutch fluid
Carbon heel guards
Generally cleaned it up, still got to polish up the downpipes and finish it off
Owes me about £1100 all in, what do you guys think?
Plans for the future are, fresh fork oil and fork springs
Fit rear shock
Finish polishing/replacing bolts etc
Maybe a respray in the winter
What do you reckon its worth now not that iam ever gonna sell it.
Other than that just gonna use it and my wife's gonna have a go aswell
Might look at getting a gsxr600k6 stealth black so we can both go out.
Have put a link to my photobucket page as dont know how to put pics straight on here, cheers
P.S check out our new puppy, charlie 5 week old staffy.

Looks good matey. I do like the last pic entitled "when I grow up" :)

They do look good in black, even if they aren't as fast as the yellow ones
Two bikes, still only four cylinders!

Looks really good Rick.
For £1,100 and a bit of work I'd say you've got a bargin bike. You would probably get between £1,500 - £1,800 on a resale so job well done I'd say

Aye that's some shine, after you fit the reworked shock could you give us some feedback on how it feels.

Cheers

Thanks for all the great comments, once i have reworked the suspension and fitted the rear shock.
The paint looks okay at the moment but want a respray this winter.
Cheers all

Hi

I was the guy Rick bought his Storm from. Just had a look at the photos and you have made a great job of sorting it out! Really happy that someone has made the most, and is getting proper use out of her!

I'd be happy to pay £2000 to have her back sometime in the future (just joking but I reckon she is worth every penny that you've spent)

Enjoy

Nice one mate! You've struck gold there... wish I could have found one for that much!

Starting to think I paid over the odds.... but I guess the value is more than cash - I can't imagine not having a bike in the garage, just having something to tinker with is worth it's weight alone. Some need more tinkering than others though!

What did you use on the fork lowers? I've got some Simoniz 5-Wheel silver - i've used it before and it comes up a treat if you prep the lowers properly. Yours look mint!
