if i were to change my old brake lines for spangly new braided ones do i want a 2 line kit or a 3 line kit? both the ones , from the same manufacturer, that i have looked at say "buy these to replace standard"

two separate for the front and a single for the rear
and one for the clutch :lol:

aha ! well ive had a bit more of a look and the three line kit is standard and a 2 line kit is an "over the mudguard " set ?? i dont think either include the rear brake/clutch though?? :confused

you dont really need the rear as it dont get used as hard as the front .
and the clutch gives better feel when it grabs
for the front just get the kit with to long pipes not the over mud guard kit
you will also need 4 p clips to keep them tidy

Also go for stainless steel or the cheaper zinc plated fittings, but not anodised alloy for road use :!:

Try a Venhill kit if you can.
I fitted Goodridge brake lines and struggled getting the lines on without twisting, the ends are crimped on and hard to rotate for a good fit.

Got a Venhill clutch line and its far superior, the banjo fittings are threaded so the line screws on to them, dead easy to get a good fit. They have chromed fittings instead of cadmium plated so should stay nice for longer too

Get HELL Lines ive had Venhill in the past they was good too

just had a look at whats on the bike and from the brake lever it goes to a splitter then to each caliper so guess what i need is a 3 line kit?.

You don't have to go that way, you can just run two hoses from the M/C, one to either caliper. That's the set up on mine and it works fine.
