Got a project on the go and need some info..
I believe the vtr1000 pistons come in two sizes 98mm and 100mm in the rc51..
are they the same pin height and does anyone know what it is please..
also does anyone have the sizes for the conrods please small end diameter ? big end diameter ? rod length between journal diameters etc bearing width also... thanks in advance ...
After some tech info please
Re: After some tech info please
no one with any info
Re: After some tech info please
Maybe because this is an SC36 forum. Do you have an SP or a Firestorm?

Re: After some tech info please
You're probably after something like this:

For rod specs, just pick up a scrap rod and measure- then do the same from an SP.
If you need one I can post, unless you're local?

It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

Re: After some tech info please
Apparently Porsche have a piston with the correct 98mm bore and crown-to-pin height, also pin diameter.
Worth a trawl....

Re: After some tech info please
Amazing info
thanks tony.. not sure whether to go 98mm or 100mm at the moment
doing loads of research at the moment on what I can get to work most efficiently.
thanks will search my piston books and see what i can find

Re: After some tech info please
It'll be the liner wall thicknesses that dictate how big you can go with pistons.
I'd suggest anything less than 3mm wall thickness is a concern.
I should emphasise that the info i posted for you is from JE high compression pistons, the standard ones have a flatter head, with indentations rather than crowns.
And to save you trawling ebay I can post you a piston and con rod (they're the same front and rear) for £10 plus the P+P
