Re: '77 Norton in shipping crate....
That's supposedly one of several, a dozen maybe. The Belgian importer at the time ordered them, apparently went out of business and then stored them for 35 years.. All the rubber and seals will need replacing, if its going to be run and if it is the value will fall a lot. Crazy really but great for ...

I read somewhere that garner is the no 1 creditor for another business that went bust... He ran it, took the money., went bust and then is first in line for the leftovers how does that work?

Re: Torque on sump set screws?
I've had mine off twice in last 12 months and it was nip up and a bit more with nothing longer than a 5" bar... 1/4" stuff. They're only m6 in an alloy casting so by feel really. I used three bond for the gasket.

Re: what have you done to your "bike" today
Well that's better I think. Started quicker on choke than it's been doing and apart from stalling once it idled much nicer.. Sprayed contact cleaner in the ign module plug and blew it clean....definitely was a poor connection on the green/bk to temp sender and TPS. which I adjusted to 500 ohms... It...

Re: what have you done to your "bike" today
Well that was worth looking at... I checked at the ign module and there's no circuit on green/bk. That explains (maybe?) difficult starting when cold. She doesn't always like choke when cold which I thought pointed to worn starter valves, maybe not. Time to trace the break.

Re: what have you done to your "bike" today
On the TPS thanks Mac... I did the original when I got the bike but it now has a new replacement having fekked the original during my cam timing malarkey a year ago. I set the new one but I'll check it again. Cheers and worth a shot.

Re: what have you done to your "bike" today
Ordered new pads all round... The fronts were half worn at almost 3mm. 4mm on the rear though and I thought hardly worn until I discovered the ebc fitted are 8mm new. I'll not really test the brakes so back on with the same brand. I was tempted to strip the calipers after 37k but they're free and un...

Re: Small Engine
Sorry that was no help really. Dunstall 810 eh.... They were hot rods and good for a couple of thousand miles before the thin wall sleeves changed shape and the head gasket failed.. Legendary though.. . Good luck with the engine.. We need to know what it was.!

Re: Small Engine
My tecumseh engined mower regularly blocks jets, either the idle (pilot) or main. They look clean but the tiniest bit of dirt and it does as yours. No idle = pilot, no rev = main jet or passage. When they're rich they usually 8 stroke. Alternatively it could be the carb diaphragm if it has one of th...
