for tips on timing up the cam timing look in the sticky on replacing camchain tensioners.

be very carefull if you are using a haynes manual as it's easy to get it 180 degrees out.

just double check it and be sure to turn over by hand before hitting the start button.

just changed me exhausts brackets and put new bulbs of ebay onto her and i feel like a mechanical genius
im so chuffed im gonna go out to my local biker cafe and get a sausage in a roll
may even splash out on a piece of mystery cake slice
was gonna do spark plugs cant find the bloody things thatll have to wait till the big day at tone's
is itpossible to buy a widget of ebay or online for carb balancing as stated stickit on make it a doddle for future attempts

Yes, you need a 5mm vac take-off for the front cylinder, search (on this forum) and ye shall find.
Then leave a length of rubber pipe connected to it with a blanking plug in the end, and use this for balancing.
Once fitted, piece of cake.

We have already booked a person with tiny hands to come along to the workshop day ; they can fit the brass takeoff without having to remove the carbs.

i fitted mine with the carbs on by flattening a piece of copper pipe over a cut down 8mm ratchet spanner and bending the pipe to fit.
that was after several attempts at burning my hand and getting cut to buggery.

what a great day after minor tinkering i had that nibble at my local biker cafe at highbeach
i decided to go home via the m25 then m11 passing through a short tunnel before turning of the m25 onto the m11
while in there i got to listen to my new to me cans and i gave her full throttle upto the redline almost
as i changed gear she her thunderous roar momentarily stopped and she made a noise that sounded just like a rifle crack
i guess a backfire i sh1t meself thinking she let go of a cct or something
but everything seems ok
over the next couple weeks i hope to have fork springs and bushes sorted
seals are in the post i hope

I though that the days we've had so far seemed to be helpful,and fairly popular.

Nothing I haven't done dozens of times to mine first, though, that's how you work out the best technique....

And I always ask all attendees to loosen theirs off themselves before they turn up.
Some people do, some people don't.
One way or another, the caps have to come off to get the timing checked, valve clearances done or CCT's fitted.

Mine already had a chisel mark in the centre plug wonder if it matches your chisel lol, the previous owner must have had the same problem which made it easier for me
