age not the problem, came off a bike a few years back and broke collar bone, it still gives me trouble when driving and as a fix fitted higher bars, now can still enjoy the storm witout the pain, you would have to appreciate what the circumstances were where by a simple mod you can still enjoy a pure sports bike without been a valento rossitony.mon wrote:Nooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!
Not old enough for "comfortable bars" as yet......Maybe the time will come, and if it's that or stopping riding ok, but
Nnoooooooooooooooooooooo!!
Might as well get a Varadero.
Still feel a bit queasy 'cause I have a clock fitted. And that's digital, at least.
Just my opinion, of course, no 'fence intended to those who walk a different path. Kudos to you, 'cause it's down to us all to do what we want with our own bike and then ride it.
But what the hell is Kudo, BTW???
Is it one of them big lizardy things?

You got me thinking Tony to the exact meaning of Kudo too, so I had a little look, this is what I found:-tony.mon wrote: Just my opinion, of course, no 'fence intended to those who walk a different path. Kudos to you, 'cause it's down to us all to do what we want with our own bike and then ride it.

Usage Note: Kudos is one of those words like congeries that look like plurals but are etymologically singular. Acknowledging the Greek history of the term requires Kudos is (not are) due her for her brilliant work on the score. But kudos has often been treated as a plural, especially in the popular press, as in She received many kudos for her work. This plural use has given rise to the singular form kudo. These innovations follow the pattern whereby the English words pea and cherry were shortened from nouns ending in an (s) sound (English pease and French cerise), that were mistakenly thought to be plural. The singular kudo remains far less common than the plural use; both are often viewed as incorrect in more formal contexts. · It is worth noting that even people who are careful to treat kudos only as a singular often pronounce it as if it were a plural. Etymology would require that the final consonant be pronounced as a voiceless (s), as we do in pathos, another word derived from Greek, rather than as a voiced (z).
I bet you wished you never asked now

Cheers, Chris.
Now what's an Etymole?
(And I really wasn't having a pop, each to his own.
Two wheels good, etc.)

It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

or their circumstances, all is well if you enjoy 2 wheels and 2 pots, each to what they find suits their own, be it age, model, experince, preferred bike, lifestyle, way of life, what ever, if you enjoy bikes and no the lifestyle fu** anyone who thinks they no better, its usually a git who bought his first bike in his 40's and read all the magazine's about bikes in his 20's who thinks he knows more about bikes than the guy riding all his lifetony.mon wrote:Cheers, Chris.

Re: Sticking throttle
Sheesh my help threads been hijacked
I'll wrestle control back and try and get back on topic.
Seems the problem is the clip on is bent. I havent the tools to straighten it so my question is. Changing clip ons? Its a right side so throttle side (obviously) how hard is it or is it just a case of losening the gubbins attached and sliding them off and replacing them on the new clip on?
For those that have followed my tragic story so far the bike is now back on the road. Brake lever is bent to buggery still but its ridable and a mate and myself replaced the hanger and footpeg today. 2 grown men swearing at a swing arm with a hand full of back wheel trying to get the swing arm pin back in. Almost comical but that was the hardest part of the operation.

And if the band you're in starts playing different tunes, I'll see you on the dark side of the moon.

Re: Sticking throttle
you cant slide the switchgear or stop button off as they both have a little retaining lug that lines up with a hole.
examine the throttle tube before you refit it as it might be split if it's had a belt.
might be a good time to fit a rvf750 one

You do not have to say anything. But it may harm your defence if you do not mention when posting something which you later rely on in quote. Anything you do say may be ripped to sh*t.
