At the risk of being dumb, what is wrong with the standard item?

ahh wait, in the USA you have daylight running lights??
Sorry, most here are UK or European and we are allowed to turn ours off...
You might be better off finding a UK left hand switch gear. I bet you pint of Cider that a magic man by the name of @MacV2 has got one he will sell you.

The later model UK bikes, post 2001, have the lights permanently on with the ignition. I tried to wire an early switch on to mine when I first got it, to give me the choice, but I lost high beam and the passing light, if I remember correctly.

I couldn't live without my flasher, you feel like and F15 pilot firing off beams of light at all those in your way.

I changed mine back to standard when I realised it wasn’t a simple fix.

If you need to switch the front lights on/off with that switch, it'd theoretically work to
- cut the green wire at the bulb plug
- solder one end to red and the other to blue of your switch

That switches off the ground connection for the bulb, so neither regular nor high beam should work.

BUT: That switch is surely not rated for the required amperage and also the tiny cables will result in a high voltage loss (i.e. "darker" lights when switched on.)
