Re: LED Security Lights

6 Bulbs at 0.5W each? Yes, I reckon you could run 9W total through a single plug. A 13A plug copes ok with a welder!

Yes, to the above, they are not cheap, have a look around.

Re: Declaring modifications

Back in the 90's when I used to race mini's, Adrian Flux was a specialist insurance company that dealt with modified and race vehicles. Seems they are just a broker like every one else now, but they do deal with most of the specialist markets, including classics, modified etc etc. They weren't cheap...

Re: having a right mare of a day !!

I recently insured my Storm with MCE, have to say, they seem to be very keen to get bikers on board, had a great chat with the lady on the phone she wanted to know if I was going to any of the Super bike meetings. I asked about adding my fazer and they do cheap multi bike too, and I asked about the ...

Re: Insurance and legal cover

My van got hit by a polish lorry, and the insurance company said, sorry, he doesnt appear on the database so we're not interested. I went through legal cover, claimed off his company that was based in Germany via uninsured loss recovery and got the van paid for as a financial write off. I won't ride...

Re: what have you done to your "bike" today

I have PR3's on my fazer and they are the best tyres I have ever had fitted bar none. They were spot on right from the first few miles (which happened to be in the wet, up a dual carriageway that had a 4' diesel slick down the middle). Can't feel manhole covers or white lines in the wet either. Is i...

Re: Anyone play instruments?

I have been a musician for 20yrs, play Drums, Guitar and bass. I used to run a recording studio but there's no money in it for the small ones any more as everyone has moved to bedroom recording (doesn't mean it works!) Like all sorts of music, and have been in all sorts of bands but currently having...

I have as of last night. Not in a rush as it's not going anywhere for a bit anyway.

Re: Should I rebuild this shed or count my losses.

Thanks for that, I have to be honest, I had a read through the workshop manual today and thought to myself, er..... maybe not. Do you need a special tool for the adjustable mount bolts or is there a way round, I only have the honda manual so far, so it just assumes you have the tool. Looks like good...

Re: Should I rebuild this shed or count my losses.

Thank you, that was what I was hoping really, not to expect catastrophic damage! It is not being ridden anyway at the moment, so no danger of further damage. Think I will drop the engine out. While I am not going to do a complete rebuild, I do want to have a really thorough look for any other nasty ...

Re: Should I rebuild this shed or count my losses.

My mate who is a better mechanic than me was flicking the bike form side to side while it was ticking over, and the sound was changing, he reckons this is the cam chain moving side to side and its worn. Whatever it is, going to get the engine out and have a proper look.

Re: Should I rebuild this shed or count my losses.

Thanks for the replies guys, I am feeling a lot more positive after a shift at work. I didn't test ride it, because that's not how ebay works. I bid on it, and I thought it was a bit of a punt, but you don't then turn up and start haggling. Admittedly, if I had realised the issues I would have walke...

Re: Should I rebuild this shed or count my losses.

Thanks for the reply. Yes, I agree with what you say, I am pissed off at myself for getting caught out tbh. We knew about the forks and front end issues (apart from the discs) as of the wknd when we stripped it. we didn't even start it up. It's only today when mechanic mate actually rode it he said ...

Should I rebuild this shed or count my losses.

Hi there. Well, I have been well and truly ripped off. Picked this beauty up two weeks ago, knowing it was a bit tatty, but under the impression it was basically ok underneath. It is described as having had the front CCT replaced after it broke, and says it is a bit rattly. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm...
